Introducing the 2014 Range Rover

It may not feel like it's been so long, but the Range Rover is actually over 40 years old. Now in its fourth generation, Land Rover has introduced the 2014 iteration, a reimagining of this stylish SUV from the ground up.

After nearly a year of teasing, the 2014 Range Rover is now available, and we'd like to take some time to go over what it has to offer.

On the design front, the 2014 Range Rover is more than merely eye candy. It's chassis is the marriage between aerospace-influenced style and winning performance. Built with lightweight aluminum, its frame is 39% lighter than a car built from steel. This metal allows it to absorb greater amounts of force in the event of an impact.

Aiding the Range Rover's performance is a new intelligent AWD, which includes a 50/50 split of torque between the front and rear axles. Additionally, drivers have the choice of one of three engines. Two, the 3.0L TDV6 (254hp, 443 lb-ft torque) and the 4.4L SDV8 (334hp, 516 lb-ft torque), are diesel fueled. The petrol unit comes in two iterations, a 5.0L (375hp, 376 lb-ft torque) and a 5.0L Supercharged (503hp, 461 lb-ft torque).

In addition to the Range Rover, there's also a new version of the Range Rover Sport available.
